help with breast feeding

My first son was born 12 years ago and I never produced any milk. I want to breast feed for new baby that is coming. I am 32 weeks. Does anyone have ideas how to boost milk supply?  We have bought a host grade pump this time.

I had a really rough time getting my milk supply up with my first baby. After baby is born start nursing right away I took yeast tablets and mothers milk tea is great. Pre make latation cookies there R recipes if you Google them. Drink lots of water and make sure your eatting plunty of food. Pump as soon as baby gets done nursing everytime. Don't stress out and don't give up. It might take a week before you start getting a good amount of milk. It helped me alot to see a lactation consultant they really know what there talking about. I'm sure u will do great.

I hope this helps as far as foods or supplements to help your supply eat plenty of oatmeal the oldfasion kind is the best and granola bars with oats, mixed nuts, carrots, plenty of water. And if your supply is still low once it comes in theres a supplement called "motherlove more milk plus" it comes in liquid or pills liquid is best. But im sure you will do just fine! Goodluck :)

These are some great sites for info on breastfeeding.

Make sure the hospital knows you plan to breastfeed and don't let them give your baby a pacifier or bottle at all. As soon as you get your baby baby back try breastfeeding him/her don't be shy to ask for help from a lactation consultant and don't feed on a schedule let your baby spend as much time at the breast as they want this will help build your milk supply. Try to hold off on giving your baby a pacifier for at least 2-4 weeks. Don't wash your nipples with soap if you are doing that now you might want to stop it can cause dry cracked bleeding nipples. It will be painful and hurt but don't give up and don't reduce the time of your baby feeding. Your milk won't come in until 3-5 days after you have the baby during that time your body produces plenty of colostrum for your baby so don't worry about not having enough just trust your body. Your baby will lose a few oz during the first week or two of brestfeeding its normal and drs will probably try to tell you to supplement but dont do it because that will only cause your milk supply to go down.

I breastfed on almost a schedule, every two hours.  But on demand if needed, it all seems to be supply and demand.  If I went over a certain amount if time I would pump to keep me going. The more consistant the better it will be.  Drink lots of water and eat really good because you need more calories now then when pregnant.
