jobs?

Has anyone ever been let go from a job when you were pregnant. I was let go for a reason that didnt make any sense and i feel like they did it because im prego. They previously let other prego people go too for other reasons that dont make sense. How do you go about discrimination? How many of you actually won a case? Im worried because i know theyre hard to beat.

unless they tell you they let you go because of your pregnancy then there isn't really anything you can do . most places now days make you sign a paper when you get hired stating they don't need a reason to fire you. so if your missing days or your productivity went down they can let you go for that too... my job has told me there is no hours but they keep hiring people I looked at my store schedule and I have the least amount of hours as everyone it ***** but they don't care and they can do what ever they want.

I wasn't let go from my job. But I was denied a higher position due to my pregnancy. My supervisor was ok with giving me the position until I told I was expecting.. Then low and behold they hired someone else for the position. So I'm still employed through the company but I filed for fmla which I didn't get due to them saying I didn't have enough hrs to cover. Which is bs.. So I'm forced to resign.

I definitely know the feeling. I was layoff my job with for a lame reason as well. I told my boss I was expecting as soon as I found out. She pretended to be okay with the news and I was glad to think she was. Couple of day's after she cut my hours and started treating me with a very dirty attitude. I felt discriminated. And I was right. Like two weeks after she tooked me off the schedule and called me in for a meeting. According to her there was no hours available to cover my shift. Yet, the day after I visited the store and she had a Now Hiring sign. My lil bro works there also so I know from him she's had about two new girls working the shift I had. She made it so obvious that it was due to my pregnancy. I didn't look to take her to trial but I did a claim for unemployment benefits so now she has to pay me via them even though I'm not working for her.

I got terminated from my job for no good reason I never got any write ups or warnings. Plus I was getting all my breaks or lunches. I felt I was discriminated against my pregnancy. I recently contacted a lawyer and he accepted my case.  Now I just gotta cross my fingers he said he felt I was discriminated too. You should give it a try. Some lawyers will not charge up front they'll take 40% if you win and you keep 60%. Good luck to you and file for unemployment take a break, relax

I'm so sorry this happened to you. The same thing happened to me and I stood my ground. I even interviewed for another position within the company and they were all about hiring me until they found out I was pregnant and the guy was dumb enough to say he eas not looking for someone in my condition. I ended up settling. Its a long process and I'm not sure I would go through it again. My whole pregnancy was ruined due to stress.

The same happened to me, it stucks. Unfortunately there is not much we can do about it as they are within their rights to for you for a reason, being pregnant isn't one of them but they will never admit that's why.

You can contact their hr department and l&i. It is illegal to be fired for being pregnant. Depending who you work for they have what's called a listen up line. Try them first. But there have been people who have won these kinds of cases and been large settlements. You may not want the stress of a fight but sometimes finding a new job when your pregnant is more stressful than fighting for what's right.
