labor story <3 happy mother's day!
First off I'd Just like to say happy mother's day to Everyone!!! I'd Also love to share my labor story with Everyone now while I have The chance to do So. :)
Friday, may 8th 2015: woke up around noon, fiance and I decided to start cleaning up The house and getting The day started with preparing The house to be ready For baby as my due date was The 4th and my induction was scheduled For The 11th. As I got up and went to The bathroom, I noticed I was having cramps. Just like period cramps. I shrugged It off and went to kitchen For something to eat But since We are due For grocery shopping right about now I found Nothing I wanted. So We decided We would get Some laundry going, a little cleaning done and head to Jamaican diner across from my neighborhood For lunch. Well as We cleaned, I was sweeping and kept laughing about how I felt like I was having Contractions But I wasn't completely sure. And That If It was contractions They were 15 minutes apart. I kept feeling them stronger and stronger But still 15 minutes apart and Then decided It would be a good time to Just send a text to my mom and best friend to let them know That It was a good chance The baby would be coming. And They should probably head to my house soon. I got in The shower, shaved What I could and washed my hair and allowed The hot water to hit my lower back For a while to relax my muscles and ease The contractions. I got out and was So hungry I told my fiance That there was a really good chance I'm in labor actively and We needed to go get Some food. So We walked to The Jamaican spot and ordered our meals. My fiance Then decided It was a great time to go to The bank with my dad and open an account. -.- my dad called him and He didn't Even Tell him I was having contractions Or anything. He told me and my five year old to sit and wait and eat and that They would come back and get us after bank. So there I sat with my daughter For an hour eating and having contractions. I was ready to punch my fiance needless to say. So was The lady who took our order and noticed I was having frequent and painful contractions! Well anyways fast forward a Bit, I get home and my mom called and That's When She informed me That I was having them every 3 minutes and needed to get my *** to hospital! So I got All of our stuff ready and waited For her to get to my house. As soon as She arrived We got in The car and got to hospital about 15 minutes later around 7:30 pm. My best friend arrived about ten minutes later, Just as I was getting put into a monitoring room. I got put on The monitors and The nurse checked me. I was 2 cm dilated and 50% effaced. Contractions At 2-3 minutes apart and getting more painful. Doctor decided to make me walk For 2 hours before deciding If She would admit me Or not. We walked until 10:30 and contractions were horrible by Then! I had to stop and let them pass while walking before able to take another step. They had me climbing stairs and everything not wanting me to get sent home. Fast forward a Bit, by 11 I was dilated to a measly 3 cm and still only 50% But small progress was still progress So guess What!! I got admitted and was being prepped to have baby!!
Saturday, may 9th 2015: I dealt with my contractions For as long as I could And got an epidural around 1am, not sure of Exact time. The epidural worked It's magic and I didn't feel a single thing. Not one contraction after That. It was amazing. The nurse came in around 2:30 and checked me. She said I was At a 4 now and as She was doing a membrane sweep my water broke! And She told me She could feel The baby's head really low and that The baby had alot of hair. I didn't get checked again after That, They Just came in every half hour and asked If I felt pressure Which I wasn't up until about 4:45. She came in around 4:50 and checked me and said I was At a 7. Around 5:20ish She came in again Because I felt The pressure alot more. She Then checked me and said It was time!!! They started preparing For me to push and I knew Exactly What I didn't want to happen was happening!! I was gonna poop during delivery. And I did. But honestly I didn't care, and nobody else did. They kept It covered and cleaned constantly and after a few pushes The baby was crowning. I could feel her head But It didn't hurt At All. They said She had meconium So called nicu and had Some extra staff come in. She was born At 5:57 am And She had No problems At All! Perfect and healthy! She weighed 6 pounds and 15 ounces. 20 inches long! I didn't tear Or need to be cut. I guess The epo really worked!
For first time mommies a little advice:)
1. When Kailaya cries and It's not changing time Or feeding time I hold her very close and say shhhhhh in her ear and She instantly stops. Babies are comforted by The sound Because It sounds a little like what They heard in our bellies.
2. If Ur able to walk while in your recovery room, Even If It's Just standing in The room, do It as much as possible, It really relieves The back pain and cramps That come after baby. Sitting For to long makes my tail bone hurt and my back Is kind of tense from The epidural So standing, walking and bending definitely helps. Even though It's uncomfortable a little Bit It really relieves That pressure from The back Which helps ALOT!
3. AT 37 Weeks start primrose oil capsules. It didn't make me thin out fast So I thought It was pointless But I am pretty sure That's why i didn't need stitches!

Lolz Yeah I was a few days past due! And I started with doing 2 orally in am and 2 inserted vaginally before bed. But At my 39th appointment I had a little bacteria down there So I decided to not do any more vaginal Just in case and did 4 orally after That. Plus skipped a couple days of taking them Because I forgot.. I took 4 before I left to hospital Also.

How far along were you when you had ur baby?? How much epo did you use and did you use it vaginally or by mouth or was it both.
