past due date :(

Had anyone ever gotten induced? How did it go? Was it worse

I'm going natural so i don't want to be induced but I've been having contractions for weeks and nothing. I walk, have sex, ate pineapple, you name it. Go to doctor on Tuesday and debating on scheduling an appointment to be induced because i HAVE TO RETURN to work in March before  12 weeks reach if i want to secure my job. Its week 4 already. Hate leaving my newborn in daycare, especially under 6 we
I will continue being active, just encase he come alone.

My main question is was it bad being induced? I know everyone is different. Share experience please.

They tried for about 10 hours with 2 different induction mess on my first pregnancy with no result.  With in that time I had only dilated to 2cm. I ended up having to have a emergency csection.

I was induced at 36 weeks because of pre-eclampsia my labor took 12 hours I didn't have any pain meds and I had a 2nd degree tear. My son is a week old now and my labor really wasn't all that bad my son's dad and my fiance was there to hold my hand the entire way.

UPDATE, SORRY ITS LATE

Well i went speed walking and a little jogging after this original post.  I was having minor cramping but I'm a fast pace  birth machine :).

Fast forward, after walking  I continued minor remodeling at home and slept in the cramps i felt. Woke up yesterday to period like cramping but still ran errands. Doctor appointment was 11:40am so i grabbed last minute items and went there. I was 3cm  so he told me to go to the hospital. I ran by one more sale and got to the hospital at 1:15.

Got here and was strapped to the bed and signed documents to begin treatment for gbs. I progressed so fast that i had him by 4pm. Natural with a little medicine in iv. I almost cried for epi at 9cm. Pushed 3-4 long times and he flew out fast i had to try to catch him. He did a poop inside so he was checked by pediatrician. We are both great. He was 7.6lbs 20 inches.

Thanks everyone for your support and comments. I hated to think if being induced but thinking about having to  return  in 12 weeks to work when i was off already for 4 because i work with behavioral students made me panick. But i didn't have to, he finally came. A few weeks to enjoy before leaving him and going back to work :(.

We are blessed that we both are healthy and our family have our addition we've waited for. I really said this is it lol. I almost ripped the bed apart here at the hospital at the end of labor. I did also have a first degree tear.

I've been induced with both my children. I don't naturally dilate past a 2 no matter how far along I am or if my water is broke. It's all I've known, but I "enjoy" the experience. I go in, get set up and 12 hours later we have a baby. It's calculated and scheduled, with an epidural I can sleep through a lot of the night and be rested for labor and a day with my new baby. As far as it not being "safe", it's not meant to be a cop-out or alternative to natural child birth, but it's practiced for a reason. My children could be in more danger if my body won't go into labor. Both my children came without complications and are normal and healthy. Trust your doctor and your body and don't stress because one way or another your baby will come :)

Trying going natural.  Keep doing what you are doing and it should kick in soon.  Sometimes takes a few extra days.  Walk and stay busy.  Don't think about it.  Ask midwife to help you get started.  They have tricks up there sleeve that they do.  Inducing isn't that good.  Pregnant with my 6th.  Done natural and have tried induction.  For me as soon as I dilated they broke water and labor kicked in full force. My water never broke on its own even at 8 cm dilated.  But with water broken the hormone to get going kicks in.

Try not to stress about it. Every one is different. I got induced 10 days past my due date I was in labor for 18 hours and wound up having a c-section. Originally I was disappointed, but in hindsight I had a healthy baby. Upon further research, I found out my baby could have run out of fluid by waiting so long after the due date.   Try to be okay with all the options. The most important thing is that baby. Best of luck to you.
