risk for infection increases?

Is it true after losing mucous plug your risk for infection increases?

I am a cna for a 3 yr old little boy with a syndrome with multiple complications. He tends to get sick kind of often. I told his mom I had lost my plug. She is a rn & told me maybe I shouldn't be around him bc of that

The only increase of infection you can get is if your water breaks but not from loosing your mucus plug. The mucus plug is just what holds your cervix together until labor is near (anywhere from days to weeks). it can also grow back which is very unlikely if your close to your due date but you can take a bath, go swimming, sex, anything you want with your everyday life. Your not contagious ha ha ha

Not quite ^^ I lost my mucus plug 3 weeks ago..... Still no baby and I'm at 39 weeks!
Risk to infections through sex, or water, or anything vaginal Because the mucus plug is a barrier to ur uterus...
Air bourn infections and viruses no!! I'm a CNA too I work at a nursing home/rehabilitation center... U can't imagine the germs there lol

I find this very funny for a RN to tell you to stay away from her kid because you could "expose" the child with infections because of you loosing your mucus plug. When you loose your mucus plug you are NOT at risk for infection and it doesn't INCREASE. It just means labor is on its way :)

Ugh why would she tell me that then:( they just recently went on a trip to Chicago. She said the airport is disgusting so maybe she is just worried he caught something and maybe my immune system isn't as strong as his and I may get sick??
