third nipple

This is embarrassing but i must know...i have a third nipple under my right boob. It actually looks like a small mole and most ppl think its just that - tiny and has given me no problems. Im 7 weeks pregnant and it has become sore and tender and im pretty sure it has gotten slightly larger! There is no breast tissue..just right on my rib cage. Im wondering if it will lactate or cause me any problems...i see my dr in one week and will probably mention it to him. Does anyone else have one??

I have one too... I thought it was a mole or a wart or something.  A dermatologist told me its basically an underdeveloped  nipple but that they are far more common than people realize.  Im 5 weeks so im not sure what will happen with mine.  If in doubt ask your doctor.

I have a third nipple too! Right under my left boob, looks like a raised little mole. But I've had no problems with mine so who knows! You might have a milk gland under there!

Hi there. I had an ex-coworker who said she had what looked like a mole but when she started breastfeeding it also leaked milk. She didn't seem to have a problem with it. But I would mention it to your Dr:)

If it has milk glands, it might lactate, but from the sound of it there aren't a lot of them if you don't see fatty tissue around the nipple.  Ask your doc, it's not an unheard of thing in men or women to have an extra nipple, so there must be something in the medical literature about how they respond to pregnancy.  You can use a breast pad when nursing.

Do mention that your doctor, just so you'll now if you should expect any changes, what's normal and what's not....
