Also, a tick will usually choose the back of the head. Behind the ears. Or in the armpits. I have even had them behind the knee and at the waistline. Back of the head is most common though.
The longer a tick is embedded in your skin, the greater the chance of getting sick or having a reaction to it. Be very careful not to squeeze a tick to pull it out. Squeezing it will force it's poison into your body. Try putting antibacterial soap or dawn dish soap on a cotton ball and holding it on top of the tick. Hopefully it will back out of your skin on its own and then you can wrap it in a kleenex and throw it away. Watch the area of the bite. Just try to do a good look over after you have been outside. They are bad here too.
Are Deer ticks common in your area? Those are the ones that cause the most harm
My husband get ticks all the time. The medics always say to watch the spots and watch for a ring that won't go away. Typically the ticks that carry disease to worry about are the small ones like smaller than a rice grain.
I called poison control they told me to keep an eye on my 4 year olds bite and make sure there are no ticks in my hair still. I took a hot shower and used a fine tooth comb in my hair. Luckily there are none stuck to my scalpthat I can feel and I checked my body I didn't get bit at all. Not that I can find. They told me to just let my doctor kbow what happened and if I find a tick on me or my son that I can't get off, go to the er... but all this fuss has made me want a nap... lol
I say just take you nd your son to the er
They do make shampoos for people that aid in tick removal. Call the Dr I don't think there are any professional tick removal people so a shampoo dn such is probably your best bet. Good luck.
Ticks carry lots of diseases. I would. Call your Dr but you also want to make sure you are taking them off the right way or you will leave the head
Yes they can carry lime disease! I would call your doctor and see how you can get rid of them safely for you, your unborn child, and your 4 year old!
Yuck yuck. The worry with ticks is Lyme disease
