Has anyone heard of the Tdap vaccine to prevent whooping cough in babies. If so, have any of you got it done??? Curious
Tdap shot is just a tetanus shot with some extras to help baby . Why to get is.. it helps prevent whooping cough
I had mine with all three pregnancies and will with this one. Whopping cough is fatal and horrible and keeps showing up in outbreaks all over. In two months a lot can happen doctor's appointments and visitors coming by can bring a lot of germs. I would take one for the baby than risk losing my baby. Plus a tetanus booster never hurts! Lol
No im just against it while pregnant. He will get it once he 2 months . My sister and bestfriend just had a bby and they both got theirs after pregnancy and my mother has 10 kids and got it for us at 2 months so im just following what my family did and what I researched.
La_bby are you against the tdap vaccine all together or just while pregnant. Will your newborn get it at 2months?
It's safe and offers a little protection for your baby til it gets it's first set of shots.
I asked the same ?. I did more research and decided against it but everyone is different.
My doctor prescribed it to me while pregnant. I havent had it yet. Im going to do more research before getting it. My ob said the baby usually gets it at 2months old

I didn't have a choice I went into my appt and my doctor said you'll be getting your shot today. That's no joke to play around with.
Yep got mine 2 weeks ago but she didn't tell me tht the next day my arm would be sore....
Yes!! Get it!! And anyone who is going to be around your baby needs to get it as well. Whooping cough is not something to mess with. I told everyone around me that if they don't get vaccinated they don't get to meet my daughter
I had mine done at 27 weeks. If there is anything I can do to prevent my child from contracting a potentially fatal disease you bet I'm going to do it.

Yea im almost in my third trimester so my doc told me i have to get one on my next appt. Just wanted to know if anyone has had it done. Im always concerned
