weight problems

I am 18 weeks pregnant now. Last week, at 17, my doc weighed me and found out I only put on 1.7 kilos. I started with 46 kilos and was then 47.8. The doc pretty much scared me, told me I would bring up an underweigh or premature or underdeveloped child. This plus some blood circulation through one of the uterine arteries problems that might limit the nutrients to the baby in the 3rd trimester. So she gave me some pills for circulation and told me to eat 3000 calories/day. It is a target impossible for me! I manage to eat about 2500 calories, and feel way to full. Which I dislike. :( moreover, I always had a fast metabolism and due to that and anxiety and job committment (always mobilised, involved, active) I hardly put on weigh.
Is NOT putting on weight such a problem?
What do you eat, with plenty of calories (but less fat)?
Any recommendations regarding how I could possibly reach the 3000 calories ideal? Maybe foods that don't take up much space in ur tummy but are still consistent? Clearly, my fav diet -fresh fruits and veggies- is not the key.
Thank you!

I had the same problem with gaining weight at the begining. I would only gain two pounds & lose one right after.. My doctor told me just to eat smaller portions of food more often & try to eat lots of fruits & veggies. Im 28weeks now & ive gained about 9lbs, bt the babys fine he's healthy.. just try to eat alot of snacks, things with whole grains, fruits, veggies, etc

I lost weight all the way up until about 4.5 months. My doctor would get on me for not eating small portions every 2 hrs because I had that same issue of always feeling full. Babies are going to pull what they need from your body regardless if you eat that full 3,000 calorie daily intake or not. But I'm sure she wants you to eat up now since she feels development may be hindered later on down the line. After all once the baby pulls what they need from you you're the one left feeling tired & weak. I would eat as many fruits & vegetables & legumes as possible. Eat normal foods instead of snacks but cut the portion size way down if you feel full. Like half a chicken sandwich and a fruit salad with it. I just wouldn't go crazy on eating junk food even though you want to hit that 3,000 mark because gestational diabetes is REAL & DANGEROUS! Hopefully she can give you a list of things to eat as well as the amount so that you won't go into this blindly! 3,000 calories is a lot...sounds like something an Olympic swimmer would eat in training!!! But I'm sure she knows best!!! Btw please meditate, pray, do yoga. The stress or anxiety that you put on your body is not going make things better on too of keeping a focus mindset on eating & sleeping right! Hope this helped some! Peace&Love to you!
