There are a lot of different views on this subject! I personally am 32 weeks pregnant with my 7th child (all born via cesarean delivery), my youngest son is 13 months, I still breastfeed him twice in a 24 hour period. Usually in the morning and before bed time. My first 8 weeks of this pregnancy, my son wasn't completely interested in feeding. Breast milk can tend to have a sour flavor the first few weeks. This taste generally tends to disappear around about 12+ weeks. Your son may wean himself or like mine, wait until the flavor he's use to and loves, returns. Now, there are risks to continue breastfeeding in pregnancy. The risk are small but they do exist, premature labor due to contractions that breastfeeding can cause (yes even though you may not feel them, they are there. Especially around 17 weeks in your pregnancy). Braxton hicks tend to be more often, more painful and causing natural hormones to react, which mat be the brains chemicals sending signals to the body to begin labor. It's not definite but the possibility is there. Also your newborn will not be able to receive the colostrum your breast make the first few days after birth. Colostrum is awesome for your baby's immune system and you can't get that back. But of course continuing to breastfeed in pregnancy is a personal decision. It's totally up to you!!! I choose to continue regardless of the risks, so far my pregnancy is healthy. I am due in October. 32 weeks and 4 days. My only.down side of choosing to continue breastfeeding was my newborn son will not get the colostrum. Sad but hey....he will have a nice milk supply!!! ;)

Go to the leaky b@@b on facebook and ask them there. There are a bunch of mom there that did it and after baby was born did tandem breast feeding with both kids. And do not think that because your child is one you need to wean. He is ok to still breast feed at that agem it is actually recommended that you breast feed until at least the age of two now but it is all personal choice

I had a miscarriagewhen I was breastfeeding. If your baby is  almost a year old it's about time to wean him anyway.   I would stop nursing just to be safe. When you nurse it still making your womb shrink. So it might push the baby out.

Yes you'll be fine. My third quit on his own when I got pregnant with fourth idk if milk tasted different to him or if milk dried. However I miscarried but not because of nursing. My stress levels were crazy. Best of luck. Enjoy your babies.
