So I told my boss today she said the rumor was not true. She was happy I came to her, she is accually very excited. Hey words we haven't had a baby at the farm in a while.she said she has noticed changes but didn't want to ask. It is like a big weight lifted. Happy mom now.

Missouri law says the company has to hold your position open for you for 6 weeks, I'm not sure what Ohio's is.
We employ less then 50 I have been there almost four years. I am always on time and do my job. I work fire a small non profit. I was going to call the eeoc once I figure out what there policy is. I do believe ohio has a state law of art last 8 weeks for leave. I was not expecting it to be paid.
If you have worked there less than a year and/or they employ less than 50 people they do not have to save your job for you when you go on leave unless your state has specific maternity laws beyond the federal FMLA law. Most companies don't have paid maternity leave...it's all unpaid. Sometime getting laid off for a lack of work is good as you would still get unemployment.....Be on time, don't break any rules to get fired over, and don't discuss your pregnancy at work.
Contact the eeoc for support and help with how to navigate it. They're really helpful
If you get fired for being pregnant without any other valid reason you can take them to court for unfair dismissal.
