Babies have Gas - Use Gas Drops???

My 5 week old girls (born at 33 weeks 4 days) have gas : (

The NICU nurse that discharged us said not to use gas drops like Milicon but they didn't say that it was bad to use only that they didn't really worked. I was surprised by her comment because we used the drops for my dd when she was a newborn and we thought they worked.

Any insight into this gassiness problem? What have you used for their relief?

Yep, I buy the store brand.  I would have to hurt someone if they took my gas drops away!!!!!  My pediatrician and the nurse said sometimes they work, sometimes they don't...just depends on the nature of the problem  They can have up to 12 doses a day so it is not harmful if you give it to them and it does not work.

oh yeah the wal-mart stuff is only like $2 something

Thanks for the info! I will check out the Wal-Mart brand. I am sure it is cheaper too : ) Man that Milicon stuff is expensive!!!

I used the wal-mart brand and still do for gas and it works wonders I have never heard of the Milicon drops not working but I did here not to long ago they had a recall on that brand
my b/g twins are 8 months
