Ahh I didnt know Dora has two twin siblings. I have heard of Dora but my DD doesn't really watch TV (DH is against TV for her under the age of 2). She does have a Dora kitchen at my moms house in the US. I will have to check out if there are any Dora story books. Thanks!
Is Dora the Explorer popular at all in Germany? We have a few books that, as part of the story, include her younger twin siblings. Not really about being a big sis to twins, but my daughter always got a kick out of them because she liked that Dora had 2 babies too!
When our twins were born, my mother-in-law gave our older daughter these twin dolls that she found at a chain toy store. They were a big hit. She named them each after her baby brother and sister and took them everywhere she went for like the first 2 months. Even now, they are still 2 of the more popular dolls in our house!
Quick, before the babies come and you have no time, write a childrens book about this. LOL What a great idea
The book I have is called "How to have a healthy twin pregnancy." It's pretty good...
Search amazon . com under the books category and enter the word twins. They have great prices on books (sometimes free shipping) but it takes a week or so for delivery.
Heatherlynn22 & tbeards - I have "What to Expect when you are Expecting" and MANY MANY other books from my first pregnancy with my daughter - but most of them have very little about twins. My mom is a Doula and she sent me several books.
But I was more or less wondering about books specifically about twins. I will check out the two tbeards suggested - thanks! I read that some books can make you have more worries than necessary. I dont need a book for that, the internet is good at that! :)
I also was looking at books to get my daughter, who is almost 2, about the new babies coming and mommy being pregnant. I dont know how much she really gets at this point - she does say i have big belly and does say "two babies" but I dont REALLY know what she understands or thinks. So I wanted to get a book for her. I was thinking about "My New Baby", "Waiting for Baby" and/or "I'm a big sister" but those are all about mama having ONE baby. Was just curious if any of you knew of books where mama has TWO babies :)
For pregnancy, not necessarily twin pregnancy but read it all the time anyway is the Mayo Clinic's Guide to a Healthy Pregnancy.
For twin pregnancy, I loved "Twinspiration" by Cheryl Lage. It is a practical book for when expecting and then for the first year after they are born. For expecting twins, I liked "When Expecting Twins, Triplets and Quads". They have great info on the NICU too which came in handy for me.
i just read what to expect when you're expecting and what to expect the first year. which i LOVE what to expect the first year. happiest baby on the block and belly laughs (the belly laughs was for me. lol)
