You definitely could be having twins, but I would go more with the HCG levels vs. the date of the HPT. I am not sure what the levels would be when using ovulation dates since I conceived via IVF both times but here are my dates for comparison:
Pregnancy #1 (single pregnancy): 9 days post 5 day transfer (14 days past conception), HCG = 60.
Pregnancy #2 (twin pregnancy): 9 days post 5 day transfer (14 days past conception), HCG = 242
Hope this helps. Also the stronger syptoms and the tightening of the belly are some indicators : )

Hi,
Im 18 weeks pregnant with non-idential twins, and when I first did a pregnancy home test at 7 weeks- I got a second line that was so faint that I thought it must be false. The next day I did another one and still got a very faint line, so it wasn't until I went to the Doctors and got a blood test that they confirmed I was pregnant. The tests I used were the early ones before your missed period as well.
I did feel that I was a lot bigger, a lot sooner compaired to my first pregnancy- but I had heard that was what usually what happens after your first. It wasn't until I had an ultrasound later that week to get the babies due date that we found out we were having twins. We told the lady doing the ultrasound that this was our second child, as we had nick-named it baby No.2. As she was doing the scan she told show us, yes here is baby No.2..... and here is baby No.3! We were in total shock. Happy, but neverever though about having twins... until now!
Good luck, let us know how it all goes.
