Fetal Heart rate

At my first ultrasound, I was told I was 8 weeks pregnant.  I was also told the fetal heart rate was 170.  I went to the doctor again and asked about conception date as it was my first month off the pill and he told me it would have been 5 weeks from the ultrasound.  That would have made me 7 weeks pregnant.  Now, when I got home and read up on fetal heart rates, everything I saw said at 5 weeks from conception, it should be in the 90-110 range and it wouldnt go up until about 7-8 weeks conception to the 171 range.  Should I be wrong or did the doctor perhaps make a wrong calculation on the conception date.  Please help, I am more than woried now and I dont know if I can trust my doctor if this is true.

I forgot to mention that they should really figure out where you are at though if you are planning on having the quad screen because a couple of weeks off could produce a false positive or negative test...

I would go by what was shown at the first u/s. The machines show the gestation by measurements so it should appear on your u/s photos. That is just me though but I have found that the u/s techs are pretty darn good about reading the measurements. It is when you get into the growth u/s later in your pregnancy that the dates can be off a little.

Heart rates vary.  I do not think you have anything to worry about.
