Im 12 weeks, and during an appt today the nurse said she heard one hb at 166bpm then she heard an "echo" at 169. I havent seen the dr yet or had an ultrasound and im wondering can fetal dopplers hear echos of one heartbeat or am I having twins...she said she wasnt sure and that id have to talk to my dr about it at my next appt.
I suggest that you keep your fingers crossed until you see your Doctor. Hearing of the heart sounds is not sufficient for diagnosis of a twin pregnancy. It is necessary to see two babies on an ultrasound scan. Hence your Doctor will be the best person to tell you.
Take care and good luck
