HELP IN MICHIGAN

I am really concerned for my daughter who found out she is pregnant with triplets. She is 22 weeks and was using birth control and continued to have her cycle. My concern is that she is only 22 and already has a one and three year old. She already knows that she will have to quit her job and be bedridden. I think she is really scared to have these babies and has considered adoption. We need any support or advice that the multiple community can give.
Thank you in advance!

Five children is a lot for a 22 yr. old...or anyone for that matter.  Is the father of the children helpful?  I know it is a hard decision either way, but adoption is such a wonderful giving selfless act.  If she chooses that path, it will be difficult, but there are so many couples out there trying so hard to have a baby.  If she chooses to keep the babies, she will be blessed three times over.
A triplet pregnancy will be monitored very closely by her OB and yes, bed rest may certainly occur at any time.  I hope she has lots of extra adult hands to help her out now and if she goes on bed rest.
Come back here anytime for support!

I know the feeling multiples are scary....and I think any mulitiple pregnancy is high risk I was pregnant with triplets also but lost one early on....and delivered healthy twins...But I found out soon that my thoughts and fears were way worse than the real deal  in all honesty it's not that hard....you just have to have a schedule and a plan....if not it will be crazy......but if you put it in your head and take what ever help ppl offer you will be ok....and I worked til 30 weeks and then was put on voluntary bed rest

I have twins and had a very normal pregnancy for the first 30 weeks.  I was never put on bedrest, but after a complication, the twins were delivered 2 months early.  My older daughter was just two when they were born.  What I would say is most important right now is that she take good care of herself and try to avoid the babies being born too early.
My kids were born at 32 weeks, and I will say that managing a preemie (or more than 1!) is very demanding.  I had the twins and just one toddler in addition, and ended up being very overwhelmed the first several months.  Try to find her as much support now and when the babies come.  Neighbors, community groups, etc...might be able to help.  It can be exhausting at first, but multiples are a wonderful experience!!  Wishing you and your daughter a healthy pregnancy.

Triplets, huh? How wonderful to have another member (or a member's daughter) expecting, when so tragically another member just lost her triplets. This place is filling up again! I am sure you will get lots of support, so feel free to ask away! I am sure anything you gain here, and pass along to your daughter, will be of great help, sounds like she has a lot on her plate!!

Wow, that will certainly be a handful. 22 years old seems to be the magic number around here for triplets! We have had a couple of people on the boards that were expecting triplets. I would recommend that you have her join MH and ask any questions in this forum. We would be happy to help out ; )

Hello. I had a high risk twin pregnancy. I was taken off work around 25wks and was on bed rest around 27wks since I was 1.5cm dilated. In total I was off work for 7 months, I used disability and child bonding through state, sick pay and paid time off through work. When all was excausted, I quit then. Baby sitting cost is too high here, I had no choice but to stop working.

You did not mention the father. Is he going to help?
