How many ultrasounds did you get?

Just wondering how often everyone had ultrasounds. I'm currently 10 weeks 3 days pregnant with twins. I had my first OB appt last week and he did a quick ultrasound. Didn't do any measurements just gave me a few pictures. I'm not scheduled for my next ultrasound until 20 weeks. I heard that being pregnant with twins you get more ultrasounds to make sure everything is going okay. I've had 2 miscarriages and have been trying to get pregnant for awhile. So I have a history of things going wrong. Wondering if I should start looking around for a new OB or if this is how it is!

I'm 10w4d with twins and I also conceive thru fertility treatment, so I had the first one at 6w, then I had a strange bleeding which cause me to have 2 on week 7 and 2 more oon week 8 with my new OBG, now I'm schedule for the next appoint which seems is going to be once a month if everything looks ok. But one thing I can tell you, it all depends on your insurance. Insurance has limits on amount of u/s, and other testing so most of the times the doc will not ask you if you are willing to pay out of pocket or not, so check into that and demand what you think is right. Looking for a second opinion with another doctor to see how they do, will also be a smart choice. Wishing everyone a beautiful preganacy and healthy babies!

i'm 13 weeks and have had ultrasounds once every week to 10 days since 5 weeks.  From now on I'm scheduled for one every 2 weeks until I hit 20 weeks, then back to once a week until I'm admitted at 24 weeks.

My twin pregnancy is considered very hight risk (they're mono/mono), so that's whats accounting for all the ultrasounds.

I get an U/S every 4 weeks to check the growth at the big hospital. I also get an untrasound at my doctors office visit at my OBGYN depending on what doctor I get, every 3 weeks. Twins are aoutomatically high risk just because they are twins, you should get a doctor who specializes or has experience in high risk pregnancies. I also choose the Hospital I'm deliverying at because they have a NEONATO unit as well. Twins come with a lot of risk and i want to be prepared and in the best care possible.

I ended up switching OB's. Something just didn't feel right, He was the Dr I saw when I had 2 of the miscarriages. I also did fertility treatments and had an ultrasound at 6 an 8 weeks, to confirm the pregnancy and heartbeats. I know the babies looked great at my last ultrasound. But around 9 weeks is when I lost my first baby. Its been a hard couple of weeks. I'm going to be 11 weeks tomorrow. My new OB is seeing me when I'm 12 wk 4 days. I'm not sure if he will do an ultrasound at that appt but I told his nurse I wanted one between now and 14 weeks.

I have had two ultrasound already and I am nine weeks today.  I went through fertility treatment so they do one at 7 weeks, then one of my yolk sacs was slightly small so they did another one yesterday to make sure they were progressing.  BTW.  Both of them look great!! =)  I am sure when the pregnancy is further along they will do more ultrasounds to make sure they are both doing ok.

I definitely think you have every reason to want more ultrasounds.  I recently had a miscarriage, and am 9 weeks pregnant now.  I have already had two ultrasounds, the first the heartbeat was just to make sure it was a viable pregnancy, and the second one was to confirm a heartbeat.  Now this week I have a third one scheduled to get measurements and confirm the due date.  Given the fact that you've had miscarriages and are having twins, I'd say they should definitely be monitoring you more closely.  You need the peace of mind to know you are being well taken care of.  You should certainly express your concerns, and if they don't adhere to your wishes, maybe switching docs wouldn't be a bad idea.  Good luck!
