Stiffening = Pain??

Ok lately my 8 month old DD has been waking up in the middle of the night and I end up putting her in bed.....well last night was great she slept all night....but my 8 month old DS woke up at 12:00 and was up and down from 12-3 AM so I just put him in bed with me.....but he never wakes up in the night he's my good sleeper but I noticed he kept stiffening out and so I gave him some tummy meds and gas drops.....does the stiffening out mean his tummy hurts??  He kept falling asleep then waking up screaming....just wondering if I did the right thing?

My dd pulled her legs in when she was gassy or had a bad tummy. She straightened them out if she got bad diaper rash or like Kat said, teething. Let us know if it gets better or if you find the cause : )

Good luck and happy sleeping!

I don't know he's already got 6 teeth and Mekaila has the 2 on the bottom but I gave him teething tablets too....I just felt so bad.....he's never been sick nor has she except and occational runny nose.....and they have been eating more table food so maybe something just didn't agree with his belly....hopefully he will sleep better tonight and hopefully Mekaila doesn't think it's her turn to wake up....I was really getting used to the full nights rest lol

Since he is normally such a good sleeper, do you think it could be teeth waking him up?  My son was getting his two top front teeth around that age and it was a long few weeks when they were coming in.  I sometimes try orajel during those middle of the night screams to help rule in or out teeth.   Has he been sick at all (I'm also thinking ear infection)?
The gas drops wont hurt, but if you haven't changed the diet dramatically, my guess is that it's something else that's bothering him (esp if the tummy meds didn't help).  Poor little guy...it's so hard when they can't tell you what is wrong :(.  Hopefully he does better today/tonight.
