Twin Weight Gain- How much???

Hello Everyone!  I was wondering how much weight gain has everyone gained with twins. I'm 25 wks 4 dys and have gained a total of 17.5 lbs (all weight on belly and some on boobs, nothing else).  It wasn't an issue until this weekend when I went to a party yesterday and EVERYONE told me how little (belly) I looked and they were surprised to find out I am carrying twin girls.  Per my last US and OB visits the girls are on target and my OB has not said anything about my weight.  This morning while out with DH for breakfast I had the same issue with people at the restaurant.  This concerned from strangers has made me question my weight gain.  Being a FTM I have no idea if my weight is okay.  Thanks for your words of wisdom.

I have actually had the same problem. I will be 24 weeks on thursday and my dr has told me the target weight gain was 24 pounds by your 24th week but I too have only gained about 18 pounds and I get told by everyone how tiny my belly is. This is my second pregnancy and with my son I had gained 50 pounds by the time I was at 9 months so part of me is happy I have not gained so much weight this time around. If the dr hasnt seemed concerned about the babies weight gain or your own I wouldnt be too worried about what other people think. As long as your girls are healthy thats all that matters. Good luck with everything!

My weight gain was very slow. I also had gestational diabetes @ 25wks. Overall I gained about 30lbs with my twins. They wee 5.1 lbs and 5.4lbs. the goal for me per dr was not to gain so much, as I was on complete bed rest and because I have 2 uterus, there was no way of knowing if my uterus would have been able to hold my babies for long time. But I was able to carry my girls one day short of 38wks.

wow, u are lucky..i gained 60 lbs during my twin pregnancy but it was due to all the IVF hormones and the consistent bed rest i was put on throughout the pregnancy...Dr didn't like me gaining so much cuz it's not safe...and the funny thing was people would tell me I looked small for being prego with twins...anyway, as long as ur babies are at a good weight and growing normally I would not worry. Actually be happy u won't have to work so hard to get ur pre baby body back :)

I am currently three months pregnant with twins. I started at 100 pounds pre twins now I am 125 pounds went straight to my face and belly. Doctor said it was weight I needed, she says my target is another twenty pounds. Mine is not all belly, sounds like everyone is experiencing little bellies and no weight gain anywhere else. I am watching my whole body change and amazed at the roundness of my belly.
I wouldn't worry about the weight gain, fat healthy babies as close to term is what I am thriving for.

I'm almost 20 wks and went to the doctor this past Wednesday & have gained 17 lbs (all belly). I don't even know how much to expect to gain either. I asked my doctor and he told me 30, but that seems way too low for twins in my opinion.

I am currently 20 weeks along with twins and I have only gained 16 pds so far. Same as you, its only in my boobs and belly. I wouldnt worry about your weight gain unless the doctors are concerned....  Congrats on the twins!
