help very concerned

Hello.  I just made the mistake of looking something up on the Internet and completely panicking myself and as it is the weekend I can not ring my doctor. I am 10 weeks pregnant and have always been anaemic. Unfortunately I have had really bad experience with my doctors who have been completely useless and are only just prescribing me my medication on monday. Will 10 weeks without it have an effect on my child or will I be ok as I can start my meds on Monday?

HI,
As you are anaemic, you will require prenatal vitamins like folic acid, iron and calcium supplementation throughout the pregnancy. However not taking the medicines, for one or two days will not have any adverse effects. Special attention to your diet is necessary to ensure that it has adequate amounts of iron, calcium and vitamins. You can consult a dietician for a diet chart according to your food preferences.
The answer is based on information provided. Exact advice is not possible without a proper examination and investigations. You are requested to consult your Doctor. Take care and keep us posted.
