preg with twins...advice needed

hey ladies....this is not my 1st preg but it is my 1st with twins.....i just had my daughter last year and she was born at 32 weeks.....im extremely worried about preterm labor with these babies

the tech said that it appears the babies are sharing a placenta but there is a thin wall (i think she said membrane) seprating them....i have no clue what that means? will the wall disappear? will the babies be ok using one placenta?

i also am sitting here wondering how im going to prepare for twins....i am thinking about setting up nursery super early since i dont want to be caught off guard

my ob said before that i would be on 17p shots but im already taking heparin for a blood clotting disease.....ugh, now that i know im having twins i feel like time slowed down 2x as slow

any advice is greatly appreciated

thanks ladies....i will def make a list of questions for my doc because that would be luck, forgetting to ask a question that has been nagging at me and having to wait for either a call back or next appointment

i take heparin which is the sister to lovanox....i had the choice of heparin or lovenox and chose heparin because it can be reversed (if needed)...i used heparin with my last preg and even though my daughter came at 32 weeks it was not my blood clotting disease that caused that

my next u/s is on thurs and i cant wait to see my babies and make sure they are still separated and growing as they should be

im 11 weeks now and so far things have been by the book....not much sickness, nauseous sometimes at night but really only super tired all the time

I have 6 month old boy/girl twins :) Welcome to the twin mommy club, hah! I hope your pregnancy goes very smoothly!

I had my twins at 32 weeks 5 days completely out of the blue (I had zero indications of preterm labor). I couldn't sleep the night before, had back cramps like crazy and finally at 7 am we went to the hospital. Twins were born that night & they're perfectly healthy today. No long term issues. They did stay in the hospital to learn how to feed, but now my son is almost 18 lbs & my daughter is 15-16 lbs.

There's nothing wrong with setting up the nursery early. I did the same thing. I think their nursery was set up like 3 months before they came. It's just my personality to want to be organized! I also made sure all of their clothes were washed, put away, etc.

And yes, the babies should be fine sharing a placenta. I think they will just watch things closely. I would keep a running list of questions to ask your dr, so you don't forget anything when it comes to appt time. You can also google any question and find lots of answers, esp from forums with other people asking the sane questions. :-)

Congrats on twins! I too have blood clot disorders and take lovenox during pregnancy. Which one are you on? I also have also had a twin pregnancy. I worried about them bring early too, but everything turned out fine. They were only four weeks early and both around 6lbs. They are now happy healthy four year old girls. They have two singleton brothers and we just found out we're expecting again. I go in for a scan on the 23rd to see if it's twins or not. I pray you have a healthy pregnancy. :-)
