travel with twins

Hi everyone.
We have our wedding booked  2 years ago overseas. However fell pregnant and  I will be 24 weeks with twins at time of wedding. I just wondered what people who have had twins think about this.  My doc said should be fine as second trimester best time to travel but just wondered what thoughts are. It's on an island so to be honest a bit worried if anything goes wrong. There is a hospital on island with 100 nursing and midwife staff etc but it's not a big hospital with scbu or nicu care etc.... and a 3 hr flight to a big hospital..

Thanks

If I were you, I would ask myself, if God forbid, something would happen on vacation, would you blame yourself.  Twin pregnancies are higher risk, and even though you have a great chance of nothing going wrong, just ask yourself if your ok with it.
It just sounds like you are struggling, and I just think you should trust your instincts.

Thank you so much for your advice. I am still wondering whether or not to go. I feel fine now 14 weeks. Wedding is eight weeks away.  Pregnancy hasn't been complicated at all and I have felt great all the way through with no nausea or morming g sickness which is awesome! . Just a bit tired at times but unsure how will feel closer to time. I love being pregnant and don't want anything to jeopardize  my babies health... so I don't know in some ways I feel so guilty and vain for wanting to keep plan and on the other hand I just want to be married and spend this wonderful time with my new hubby before it all happens but yeah like you say just have to see how I feel I guess... Such a big decision. ..

Congrats on your twins :)  welcome to the twin club!!!  A lot of work, but worth it!! :)
My doctor told me not to travel by plane after week 20 or so of my twin  pregnancy.  But, if your doc gave you the ok, amd you feel comfortable, go for it :). I know ladies pregnant with singletons are given the green light to travel by plane  until a few weeks before birth, but twin pregnancies can be more complicated.
My best advice is listen to your body.  We traveled when I was 17wks, and I over did it one day walking down into and through a cavern in New Mexico.  Boy, did the babies let me know it!!!

I would definitely still make the trip. Things can happen at any time during the pregnancy but you can worry yourself crazy.....so, try to enjoy the wedding and the experience.  For me, the second trimester was the absolute best time!

It was ALL DOWNHILL AFTER THAT! I had a really difficult time in the last trimester....everything hurt! It hurt to walk, it hurt to lie down, I was just ready for the munchkins to come out! LOL

But being a mom IS THE ABSOLUTE BEST FEELING IN THE WORLD! It's exhausting in the beginning....but there is no feeling like it when their little innocent eyes look up at you so lovingly. :)

How far along are you atm? We was told that we was having mo/mo twins at our 11 week US. When we had our 17 week US they found a spider web membrane between our boys making them mo/di instead.

I would still go. Not much happens in the 2nd trimester unless you are having mo/di or mo/mo twins. But your doctor gave you the go ahead.  My doctor told me at the beginning of our twin pregnancy to do as much as I could in the first trimester because of mo/di twins can begin to have complications starting in the 2nd trimester on word. So far we have had an uneventful pregnancy and only 6 weeks left.  I have learned to stop worrying about the things with a twin pregnancy that i can't control even though I still read about stuff so that if it does happen I wouldn't freak out as bad.  Have an awesome wedding!
