Is it true the smell of cat pee can mess up the baby ?

My bf has a cat & i keep smelling cat pee , im juss wondering the litterbox thing is dangerous or the cat pee cuss the smell of the pee type strong .

I don't think its the smell, but the ammonia?  Theres something in the cat pee that can harm the baby, but its not the smell itself. If you must clean the litter box wear a medical mask and wash your hands and arms really well. Even change clothes if possible.

It's not the smell, it's an airborne virus. I've talked to my midwife about this since we have a sandbox (which ends up being a community litter box) and she said that since I've had cats most of my life, I'll probably be okay and so will baby, even if I clean the litter box daily. She did say, as a precaution, to wear a bandana or something over many nose and mouth while doing so.

How do you mean? Its dangerous to handle cat littler whilst pregnant due to toxoplasmosis so make sure you get someone else to do it but chances are if you've ever changed cat litter in your life you've already been exposed to it.
