Hi!
Congratulations on your new baby!
It is very common to have irregular periods after the birth of a child. Some women who breastfeed don't have a period for two years. Others have monthlies right off the bat.
Your hormones are still going through a lot of changes, so don't get too concerned if things are not quite clockwork yet. If the pregnancy test at the doctors' office was negative, you are probably not pregnant. If you were my patient, I would repeat a test in a week just to be sure.
You can use contraception when you are breastfeeding. There are many different and good options. The mini pill is OK, the Mirena IUD, depo provera, etc. So, don't be afraid to ask your doctor for something like that if you are not quite ready for number two yet!
If you don't mind being pregnant again, I would advise you to just wait and see what happens.
Good luck!
Dr B
I sounds like you could be pregnant although when your breastfeeding periods are not always regular. My mother had 5 negative pregnancy test with me and then finly just told the doctor she was pregnant he checked her and she was 3 1/2 months along some people have a lower level of the pregnancy hormone than others, so pregnancy is hard to detect.
Sounds like ur pregnant to me. The brown disch was probably implantation bleeding. I would another week to test again
