10 week downs test ???

I'll be 11 weeks pregnant with my 2nd baby tomorrow :)  I saw my GYN 3 days ago and the MA told me they're doing a new test at 10 weeks. She told me it was down syndrome testing and that with those results, they can also tell me the genger of the baby! Results will be back in 2 weeks! Has anyone had this done at 10 weeks, and what were your results???  They didn't do this with my first pregnancy so this is new for me.

I'm having this test done at 10 weeks. It is a simple blood test. They take blood from your arm and analyse it. It tests for three different chromosome disorders and also tells you the baby's gender. Zero risk for the baby. It's very new and has only been available for about 6 months. It is also extremely accurate.

The needle threw the belly is the 3rd way of telling if the ultrasound and blood test come back and they think you need the needle which you can say yes or no to:) I have done this test with my 1st and again with this one I did get to find out the sex with the blood test:) its not always a bad thing to have the extra ultrasound and if needed the blood test:) Hope this helps:)

I had this test and it was done between 15 and 18 weeks but it didn't tell me my baby gender. They took blood from my arm to determine my babies genetics.

Its a bigger miscarriage risk and percentage wise is actually wrong way more than right. They stick a needle through your belly into the placental sac! Most doctors say unless there is history of downs in the family or you are over 35 (I believe) then to not get the test. Unless you would abort due to it.  Just do some research momma, please. The risk to baby is NOT worth it in my opinion.

My doctor asked me that but she told me 16 weeks and that it's just tells you if your baby will have down syndrome I'm not doing it because that's an 8 inch needle going in to your stomach to take blood from the baby
