25 weeks pregnant and confused

Hi, I'm nearly 25 weeks pregnant, and from the due date my midwife has given me (14th Jan 2012) I've worked out that my date of conception would have been 23rd April...I'd just like to know how accurate the dates are from an ultrasound scan? The reason I ask is that I had protected sex on 27th April with a different guy to who I presumed was the father. The condom didn't break and was used correctly but I'm worried sick that the baby could be a result of this one night stand I had. The other guy I was having unprotected sex with around 4-5 times a week and I know he is most likely the father but I can't stop worrying if there is a possibility this baby could be a result of that protected one night stand and if so, could you please tell me what the chances are? Thank you.

Every doctor is different... your due date is technically a week long because they estimate when they think you will have the baby...

My due has been between OCtober 17-19..... 19th based on my earlier scan, 17th based on my last menstrual period.. My doctor said they should never have changed my due date from the 17th unless the ultrasound is more than 7-14 days off (again it depends on the medical profession)...  I went by the 19th my whole pregnancy but have recently been going by the 17th because its easier to be in sync with my doctor... I figure there really isnt much of a difference in a couple days.....

unless you have IVF, its not really possible to fully pinpoint the date of conception.....  I know a 5 day period where I know my baby was conceived and have it narrowed down to 1 day in particular but it could have been the day before or after so who knows..

If the sex with the one night stander was protected, chances are your regular man is the father but the dates are close and i would probably confirm with a dna test but condoms generally work really good and the fact that the other sex is more often and unprotected, it yields a higher probability

I had a scan at 10 weeks where she told me my due date was 15th Jan, then another at around 13 weeks where she brought it forward a day to the 14th Jan, just wish i could stop worrying about it all, thanks for your reply stacey  :)

I would say that they its highly unlikely especially if you had nbo problems with the condom, depending on when the ultrasound was done is dependant on how accurate they are as after 12 weeks babys can grow at differing rates, when they do a dating scan the earlier you are in your pregnancy the better, ie around 8 wks is good as they basically all form tthe same at that young age. The due date your midwife has given you is an estimated due date as all womens cycles are different lengths and ovulation can be different at each cycle, sooo they have come up with an average that they use with everyone. Hope that helps somewhat :)
