Anyone have any Hreatburn solutions?

I'm about 20 weeks along, and all of a sudden I am getting killer heartburn. Everyone keeps saying baby Charlotte is going to come out with tons of hair, but if this is true, she is going to be hairy all over lol. Anyway, According to the list my doctor gave me, I can only take tums, but I feel like my body is becoming immune to them and they aren't working as well anymore. The package says to take no more than 10 a day, but 10 isn't working for me. I can't take peptobismol for it or anything that also works to help diarrhea, I'm unsure why, but the doctor told me not to. I just don't know any home remedies. I've tried milk, sitting up in every position, cold water, hot water, cheese. I'm out of ideas. Any thing you ladies can think of or things you have tried I am more than willing to try.

I find a lot of help with a low fat chocolate milk.  Also the small meals throughout the day as mine definitely spikes after getting hungery.

Zantac is also fine to use. I lived on it when I was pregnant with my daughter. I had awful reflux with her, and it was the only thing that helped.

I've had horrendous acid reflux for the past 3 months and to tell you the truth, Tums made it worse for me. Tums always gave me horrible stomach aches and gas. I was actually put on prescription prevacid, but the doctor wasnt concerned when I went for my pregnancy test, but I doubt they would recommend that for just heartburn. Here's what I do to try to keep it under control. No acidic foods or drinks (orange juice, apple juice, pineapples, etc.); no caffeine whatsoever even though you've probably eliminated or cut down, caffeine is by far the worst culprit (chocolate, coffee, sodas); do not eat or drink anything 3 hours before bed even if you take tums; you've got to learn to sleep upright, right now my bed has 3 pillows, a body pillow, a head pillow, and an extra comforter to prop me up, or if you can prop up your bed with bed risers; weird trick or me: G2 gatorade seems to really cut down on my heartburn I'm not sure why exactly; instead of 3 big meals eat 6 small meals without any heartburn triggers and dont drink anything with your meal. Unfortunately for me, I've tried every home remedy in the book and nothing seemed to stop heartburn for me, I just learned to live with it and avoid anything and everything that triggers it.

I usually take two right as I get the feeling, but whenever it comes back it hurt worse and worse. I always drink ice cold water and chew a few ice cubes when I get it, but that was before I was pregnant, and I tried it recently and it doesn't even seem like it wants to work. I'm losing sleep to heartburn. It *****. I've slept in every position to try to avoid it. I've even thought I had acid reflex, but I don't. Maybe I should take a tum after I eat. I'm not sure if that would help or not.

The only thing that works for me is Tums. I have to take more than recommended on the bottle sometimes but my dr said that is fine. I always seem to get terrible heartburn with my pregnancies too. My son was actually very hairy all over lol. Thankfully it went away at around 4 weeks :) Also try sleeping propped up. Milk, water, and all that stuff make mine MUCH worse. I can't sleep without a drink of water before bed, but then I have to chase it with Tums or I immediately get heartburn. Also, taking them right as the heartburn shows up helps instead of waiting til you can no longer stand it.
