Big Baby

My 3D/4D ultrasound lady said I have a big baby. She estimates him to be either in the high 8's or 9 pounds when he's born. I'm 31 weeks. My bf's family acts like we shouldn't listen to get and said your babies are born around the same size as me and my bf. I was 7 pound 9 ounces And he was 5 pounds because he was premature. So my question is would she have a good idea how big he's gonna be?

I know how u feel. I had my latest u/s last friday cuz I'm measuring 39 and was 36+5. I was told my lil man weighs abt 7lbs already. I went to ob yesterday & I'm still measuring 39. They told me that if I don't deliver by next week then we will discuss me getting induced within the 2 following weeks. They don't want me going over my due date due to the size of my baby boy. They never asked what hubby or I weighed at birth so all is based on u/s measurements

No the didn't say anything about it yet but my doctors lets most of his patients go over about 2 weeks so I hope he will consider it

Estimations can be wrong its an estimate i was supposed to weigh 9 lbs and weighed a little less then 8 . They do go by how much you and daddy weigh at birth to estimate what baby will weigh but they can be wrong . Are they talking about inducing you ?

I had a midwife with my first pregnancy tell me oh I don't think you'll have a very big baby probably 6 at the most 7 pounds..well my son was 8lbs 5ozs 21inches long

All it is is an estimate they cant really know for sure. A lot of people get told they are much smaller or bigger then they actually are

my ob said the same for both of my pregnancies, my kids were 8lbs 9.5ozs and 8lbs 12ozs, they told me my daughter was going to be almost 10 and she wasn't, it can be off as much as 2lbs, it's not very accurate.
