Birth control

Is there chances of getting pregnant while drinking the placebo week and not being on your period?

This is my first month on birth control, and I took all my active pills throughout the month, even during my menstrual cycle. Now I'm at the end of the pack on the placebos, but I'm not on my cycle. We decided to have unprotected sex, but I wanted to make sure what the possibilities cab be.

I was told it takes only a week for the pill to kick in. But at any point on BC you can still get pregnant. But the placebo week should be the week you're on your period.

You can always get pregnant on the pill. I got pregnant after being on it for almost 3 years. But yes, if you've only been orbit for one month then you have a high chance of becoming pregnant, regardless of it being placebo or active pills you were taking.

I would say you do have a higher chance of getting pregnant during the placebo week than you normally would since this is your first month on the pill. The placebo week is meant to keep you on track with your pills. During the placebo week is when you are supposed to be menstruating. If you didnt m enstruate during that time you could possibly have ovulated. Even while you are on the pill I would recommend using a condom also...pills are not 100% effective.

You are supposed to be taking the placebo when you get your period even if its not in order especially the first few months while your body is getting used to it. So yes. You having unprotected sex on the placebo week is like having unprotected sex and not being on birth control

The placebo is actually to keep you on track with taking them and you can get pregnant even taking the birth control active pills it is not 100%. I got pregnant on BC being on it for 2 years and didn't miss a pill.

Im guessing the placebo is to trick your body? In that case i feel like there would be a good chance...but if your dr didnt say anyyhing about sex during placebo week you should be fine. Id double check tho

Yes, it was explained to me. That's not my question. My question is about having unpto texted sex on the placebo week, since I'm not on my period. Usually you drink the placebos while on your cycle.

It can take upto a month to be fully protected. Your Dr should have explained all this to you when you first got the pill.
