Bleeding on the 17th day after periods

Hi, Iam 31 yrs old. I have a kid of 7 yrs old. We are planning for a second child and we are trying from the past 1 year. My periods are always normal ie 28 day cycle. I had my periods on December 22nd and the next period should start by 18th January. But this time when i woke up on 7th of January (ie my 17th day), my panty was fully damp with blood. Usually i feel cramps and uneasiness during the periods, but i didnt feel anything this time. The flow was very heavy for 1 and a half day, but it was just like blood (pink or red in colour), not like the flow which i usually have in my periods.Later the flow was less and in between i found some brown spots also. Sometimes iam feeling very tired now a days. Can anybody help me regarding this. Was this an implantation bleeding or ovulation bleeding or a normal period? Is there any hope for me to have a baby? Please help.

hi  tarajanes, thnx for your reply. I felt some cramps (which i usually experience before my periods) on 17th January. Actually my periods was supposed to be starting on 18th. But as i had written early, i got bleeding on 7th jan. Was that a mid cycle or odd cycle or am i pregnant?

Implantation usually on last a few hours to a day.and is not heavy very light, mostly when you wipe.ovulation bleeding is generally just a spot.although it would have been the right time for ovulation.you could take a test.there is always hope to have a baby.somtimes we can just have an odd cycle month.
