Many pregnant women "tandem breastfeed" and continue their breastfeeding relationship with their baby while pregnant. It's perfectly natural and normal. Good luck to you!

you may indeed continue to breastfeed but understand 2 things number one , breastfeeding may cause contrations but as long as you dont feel any u are 100% ok to go and #2 the further u get into ur pregnancy ur milk will taste different due to colostrum but ur baby will deceide if he or she is okay with it. he will continue to nurse or decide he doesnt like it. so ur ok as longs u dont contract. good luck and congrats!!!!! oh and if u continue all the way thru ur body will adjust its milk supply on demand for the new baby to nurse as well.

I said it would be fine to continue and my reasons are the same as some of the other posters so I won't repeate what they have written.  I'll just suffice it to say "I concur"

typically it is just fine for you to continue breastfeeding while pregnant, you may need to take extra vitamins and up you calorie intake even more than a typical pregnant women, so you can provide for both. since you do have history of MC I would definitely talk with your Dr as he or she may want to  keep a close eye on your iron levels and any other levels that maybe effected by breastfeeding! my mother was still breastfeeding my brother throughout her whole pregnancy and for a short time after, she only stopped with my brother, because his theeth were making her really worse after the baby was born. Good luck, Congratulations! and stay healthy!

You have to do what feels right for you. I think it should be fine to continue to breastfeed, and personally wouldn't feel right about stopping because of a pregnancy because to me it's like putting one babies needs above the other. But you have to do what feels right to you.

Normally I would say it is ok to breastfeed whilst pregnant, I did so till i was 6 months pregnant however I would strongly recommend speaking to your doctor. If you have a history of complications during pregnancy, they may advise you to stop.

I looked into this, and it's just fine.  I've heard some women say there milk changed a little while pregnant but it's perfectly safe (One women even said her milk turned green!).  Some women like to stop a month or two before the baby's born, but from what a few different LC's and Dr's have said it's not necessary.  Your body actually will adjust to the child nursing!  Also, check out this site (If you haven't yet): http://www.llli.org/  I believe you can even find local leaders who you can call and get more specific information about it if you want.

Only you can decide what you should do - deciding to stop breastfeeding is a very personal choice, one that only you (and possibly your baby, LOL) can make....  I know that a lot of women's milk supply is drastically affected when they become pregnant, but if yours is adequate for your 8 month old and your doctor doesn't have any objections to you continuing, then I'd say that it's probably fine.
