okay!! Thanks for looking into this, and helping me :) I just wish the 30th would hurry up and get here. I am the worst at being patient but I guess the pregnancy will teach me patience!
I have been watching alot of shows on multiples and twins looks like hell... It seems all fun and games but two babies is alot...
a molar pregnancy is something that happens during conception where the fetus does not get the right amount of chromosomes from both sides.. So it can start to grow but does not develop properly... I wouldnt worry too much about it at this stage in the game because they are rare about 1 in 1000 and more common in people with a history of molar pregnancies and women over 40... doctors classify the pregnancy as tumors though most are non cancerous... The thing is though, it seems like when it comes to the HCG... From the people who I am reading about it seems like their HCg was in the 100,000 range as early as 5 weeks... Your levels are still in a normal range for early pregnancy.. Someone else might be able to give you more information but I wouldnt be jumping to that conclusion yet as its unlikely.. Twins are probably way more common
What is a molar pregnancy? Is that bad? This is my first pregnancy so this is all very new to me.
And if I have a girl, yayy!! I'd be so very happy lol. And, if I don't have twins that definitely won't make me too upset. One baby is already expensive and a lot of work, I don't want to think about double the money and work.
I'm having an ultrasound on the 30th. It's going to take forever for it to get here!
Also no reason to rule out twins at this point, it is a possibility
I know I read before a while ago that molar pregnancies may have faster rising HCG levels than normal ones... There is so much variation and even doctors will say its not an exact science and can vary so much.. If you did another draw in 48 hours, it may not jump up to the full doubling but could still be normal
I also just read
hCG levels are also higher in women carrying a female fetus when compared to women carrying a male fetus, so it is possible that the pregnancy test becomes positive later in women carrying a male fetus
I cant find a whole lot surprisely on the fast rising hcg issue...
The nurse, who I had talked to (over the phone), sounded very surprised when she looked at my results. She asked me the reason they had been checking levels, which was because at first they thought it was an ectopic pregnancy. The reason for this is because when my levels were only 18, they did an ultrasound to check everything and they actually saw something in, or on, my right ovary. This worried them because they shouldn't have seen anything at all. But they said it may have just been a cyst on my ovary.
You cant tell multiples by HCG... though sometimes people with multiples have higher HCG, it is not always the case...
Im not sure why it would jump so high, you might want to google fast rising HCG. It says a normal doubling time prior to 1200 can vary alot and normal is generally considered 31-72 hours... Yours is right after 24 hours according to the calculator.. If the doctor did not seem too concerned then I wouldnt worry.
