Cramping is normal. It occurs because your uterus is expanding and the ligaments surrounding the uterus stretch. It is not normal when it is a sharp, stabbing pain on one side, or if it is accompanied by bleeding. Otherwise, normal cramping should feel premenstrual. If you are worried, CALL YOUR DOC and ask questions. It's not stupid to call and ask if you feel like the cramping is worse than it should be.
