Cramps?

So, on Friday i had really really bad cramps....they felt like menstrual cramps..like i couldve started my period at any minute. i was out of town visiting my mom and i wasnt having any bleeding, i didnt fall or anything like that so i thought maybe i was just stretching...a lot. so i layed down and suffered....i was expecting them to go away but they stayed there the whole day..i got  little breaks here and there but it was mostly there all day just like period cramps..and they hurt real bad like period cramps. well, i woke up on saturday and was totally fine...i didnt feel anymore cramps at all. i had a few on sunday and a few on monday but nothing to keep me in bed or to even compare to friday's. but here i am all of a sudden today with cramps again and my heart is racing and at first i thought it was just my asthma but its deffinitly my heart racing. and now im worried that i was stupid for not calling the doctor when i initially had these cramps on friday..the bad ones. was that dumb? could there be something wrong? he's kicking still all the time but since friday i have had a huge increase in vaginal discharge..clear discharge and i noticed it for sure because i havent had hardly any my whole pregnancy and i had to go out and buy pantiliners that im changing often. im just about 26 weeks btw and the cramps are low like right where period cramps happen and in my vagina they hurt just like Af cramps except for tylonel doesnt do a damn thing for them.

Definitely keep us up to date on what's going on!!  I'm not much help in terms of what contractions feel like:  I've never had BH's and even when I was induced the last time and started having contractions, I didn't clue in right away because it didn't feel like what I thought it would (they were all in my back).

and by the by....you mommy ever looks like a dork for worrying about her baby! I went in a LOT in the weeks leading up to my daughter being born and I felt the same way but I knew it was the right thing to do!

Yeah I know exactly what you mean and I hate to sound dire but that's what dilation felt like to me...my daughter was engaging before I was fully dilated and it caused shooting pain (cramp-like) in my vagina...definitely call tomorrow morning unless things get worse...then go in if they do!

on the plus side I think I do remember in my mid-20-weeks time that I was having a lot of pelvic pressure and pain and nothing was wrong....but if it gets to the point where you start to seriously worry you need to go, girl!

thanks love, no idea what id do without you right now! i have no idea what to expect or how to know what im feeling or what to do...its hard to be pregnant for the first time! i appreciate all the advice and i will call if it gets bad...ill call tomorrow morning regardless and just ask them what it could be...hopefully they will just answer me and not make me come on in a day before my scheduled appointment. i just need to hear some solid warning signs from a doctor and not from about.com and wiki answers lol i wouldnt be so stubborn about this if DF and i didnt share a car...i cant just jump in the car and go off to doctors appointments because he has the car at work so i have to call him and make him come home...which i did once last month already...for scar tissue pain lol that i didnt know was scar tissue pain at the time. it was a waste of a day of pay for sure! so now im just really apprehensive and i dont wanna look like a dork for preterm labor thats actually my uterus growing..ya know?
p.s. i have cramps like inside my vagina...does that make any sense? and i feel a dull ache like on the outside of it...excuse my bluntness but its like how you feel after a long night of sex lol except for i havent had the long night of it!

LOL better than me sending my husband on a midnight toilet-bowl-cleaner hunt when I got the cleaning heebie-jeebies the other night...

Well yeah you can probably wait a bit and see if it gets worse...if it gets worse, I hate to say but I would call and risk going in...hard to say though sweetie. I hate making those calls myself because I never know if it's nothing or not so I feel ya, lol. Go with your gut though, and if it gets "bad" call and/or go in. In the meantime, water, try different positions...warm bath...just like you're doing!

i dont have an on call friggin number...my high risk clinic is part of the hospital ill be delivering at and so you have to call the nurses station in the e/r and have the head nurse on call paged in L&D and since im high risk they always freak out and make me come in for every little thing and i am SO not going anywhere right now lol. the last 3 times theyve made me come in its been absolutely nothing...scar tissue and stretching and dumb things like that. pee isnt dark and it doesnt hurt or burn or anything...i dont have a history of uti's so i dont think its that and bummer...i have no bananas..i was thinking of trying that earlier. if i get desperate ill send out DF on a midnight banana hunt lol.

LOL definitely give that a try...maybe eat a banana and see if it's potassium-cramping.. I'd say keep drinking that water and see if your on-call OB has any advice. I probably annoyed my old OB so much because I called for EVERYTHING but I always felt better when they told me what was going on :)

right when i felt the cramps i started drinking a lot of water because i read that it helps...i also stayed in bed but theyre still here and my right leg is cramping and hurts..its tough to walk around right now but its hard to sit still too...im gonna try soaking in a warm (not birth defect hot lol) bath in just a little bit to see if that will make anything easier.

no i'm pretty sure that you can have pre-term contractions stop and start unless you're going into full-blown pre-term labor in which case you're right, they wouldn't ease off.... I had almost full/full-term contractions start and get serious and then ease off several times in my last 2 months, so I know it's possible to have contractions that don't initiate labor.... mine got bad and very close together and then would taper off by the time I got to L&D (go figure, LOL).

are you dehydrated? try drinking lots and lots of water, dehydration can cause contractions that aren't necessarily related to the start of labor....is your urine dark, or are you having any trouble with peeing that make you think UTI?

can you get preterm contractions on and off for a couple of days without your breaking or anything progressing? i always thought if u didnt go right in for preterm labor then u would end up actually going into real labor? i didnt think you could sit around with it happening for a couple days? but then again i also thought it would be very obvious if you were having preterm contractions lol i thought ur instinct would kick in and you'd just know these things...but i have no clue! ive never done this before! but i do know that i just feel off in general and very very tired....i wish the clinic was still open so i could ask. i feel silly calling since i have an appointment on thursday anyway. but id hate to have waited if something is going on.

it COULD be preterm contractions (which won't ease off as quickly as BHC) so you need to call and ask...at this stage in pregnancy contractions won't feel like you would expect them to at full-term, and will feel more like menstruation cramps...so call your OB and ask :)

I'd call your doctor and check in to see if this is normal or not.  I had a bit of that when I was 24 weeks (although no change in discharge) and it subsided when I rested.  I mentioned it to my OB and he just asked if the pain was in front at all and didn't seem concerned when I told him it was in my back and I'd had no change in discharge...and they went away with rest.

Good luck :-)
