If its the one hour they don't usually have you fast. The 3 hour you are required to fast and you have to stay at the office the whole time. Usually if you are fasting they have you go in first thing in the morning so you would be sleeping and not eating. And the carbs are the worst you could eat so easy to get false result!

Sadly that's misconception..rice is carbs which have hidden sugars and should be eaten in verrry small anmounts IF you have diabetes. so even rice can send your sugar levels up

My first one they told me to fast but when i got there they said i didn't have to. My second one they didnt mention fasting at all. I would guess you will be fine especially with eating healthy stuff not sugary.

Some places say to fast some don't but if you've been told to fast you should.

Also rice is high in carbs which also means its not good for your blood sugars either. I had to fast from10pm and start the test at 9am. Every doc is different but you need to inform.them that you ate.

My doctors just asked if I ate that day. You should be fine but if it comes up positive address that to your doctor. I heard if it comes up positive you have to take the test again anyway.

It can give you a false result. Take it from me I've had two pregnancies both and both I've had gestational diabetes so I know a lot about it by now. If you were instructed to fast from a certain time you really should stick to it..call your doc when you can, explain.and retest another dat.. you don't want a false positive. Or negative!

It can, especially if you ate the wrong thing. You should always follow your doctors instructions exactly.
