Essure - Anyone ?

Okay, hubby and I are in agreement that after this child that we should look toward ensuring that we don't have any more. I am not real happy with the option of a tubal ligation, but the essure method has caught my attention. Anyone know anyone who has had this done? It has only been out since 2002. I know for certain that I do not want to go back on a form of hormones. I was on Depo Provera for right at 9 years. The side effects, most I didn't even realize I had until going off (I guess since I had used it for so long), were just awful. The plus side, I don't remember having a period after the first year. I had some slight spotting occasionally, maybe once or twice a year, but that was it. I don't want to do that again. I want my body to perform naturally, but not get pregnant again. Anyone else calling it quits after this, that has input, I would love to hear from you as well.

I broached the subject of a vasectomy as well. I didn't want to push it. I just dropped it in conversation and will let him mull it over for a while. If he gets the vasectomy about the same time I go into labor, we won't have to worry about the 6 weeks before resuming relations since neither one of us will be allowed to have sex. Anyone else have input about the essure method?

My 2 yr old son was supposed to be my last child, but the good lord has blessed me with another baby lol. I was on Depo for 2 years and hubby had a vesectomy, He didnt feel comfy with the fact that a tubal ligation had a lot of side effects and risks, not only that it is considered a major operation and your put under general anestesia.

Tubal ligations make you prone to ectopic pregnancies, something my step mom has endured 4 times, one that made her have her left tube fully removed.

The hubby didnt want anymore children, so in our household, the one who didn't want anymore was the one to get fixed, so that was my hubby. Although the vesectomy worked like it should, he couldnt wait the 6 weeks of no intercourse so we ended up getting pregnant this time lol.

I plan on trying an IUD this ime around, just for extra protection, I know deep down my body probably cannot handle another pregnancy for health reasons, so for extra protection I plan on using a form of birth control, ontop of DH being spermie free lol.
