Exercise & Pregnant.

I'm 16 weeks, 1 day today and I have lost 12 pounds since i've gotten pregnant. (I've always been lean and muscly, in average/lower BMI)
Today i went to the gym to walk on the treadmill and play racquetball, but mid work out, i thought, "is this counter-productive?" since I'm supposed to be GAINING weight?
Anyways, hubby told me that I'm just staying healthy so its okay.
What do you guys think???

lol thanks a bunch! i have just been keeping up with my regular routine. i heard that as long as you aren't picking up some new, aggressive sport during pregnancy, your body is used to whatever you were doing before you got pregnant. i sleep on my right side all the time and drink caffeine too lol. i don't feel like such a bad mommy anymore(:

Just use common sense, for example, no rollercoasters, or bungee jumping, ya know? There are women who have literally ran marathons while pregnant, when in doubt ask a health professional, no question is stupid, and none of the people in my obgyn office have ever minded me calling over any concern no matter how small it is

I've heard lots of doctors say not to give up a healthyroutine, but maybe ask your ob when its too much? As long as you arent in pain or uncomfortable, or being way too rough, like crazy bootcamp workouts I bet you're fine. One of my ob's made me feel so much better about my concerns at 16 weeka because i dont always like to sleep on my left side and the internet is VERY anti right side sleeping, caffeine, cigrettes, or basically any kind of bad habit people have, she looked at me and goes, "women have been giving birth since who knows when, billions of women, and if someone had a complication every single time they did something OB's, midwives, and the american obgyn association warns us against, none of us would be here today, because its the same stuff our mothera grandmothers and ancestors did. As long as you aren't uncomfortable, or excessive in your bad habits then dont worry, because worryong is worse for the baby or you than a coffee or sleeping on your right side!"
