I had just begun dieting and I was soon to begin a gym membership. But just yesterday I found out that I am pregnant!!!!! According to this app I am 5 weeks. I am wanting to know is it ok to diet and if exercising is ok and if so what exercises?

Btw I'm five weeks pregnant too. Most of my friends said they gained most of the weight in the last two-three months of their pregnancy. So I expect to pack on some weight then but yeah it's different for women who are overweight. My doctor stated that an average/underweight woman should gain 30-50. We are only supposed to gain about 11-20 because of our stored fat.

Thanks alot, that helped tremendously. I will definitely use the advice. I want to eat healthy for the baby too as well as myself and I want to keep my weight under control. And I want to be able to easily drop the baby fat afterwards.

Congrats. I'm in the same boat. I'm about 30lbs overweight. I was 50, I asked the doctor if I could continue working out and she said yes. The one thing that I noticed is that I'm out of breathe faster than I was before I got pregnant.I am kicking all the fast food and ice cream for now. Mainly because I want to eat healthier for my bun in the oven. My doctor said not to diet and I should only increase my calories by like 300 for the baby. Now I run 3 miles instead of 8, and I don't sprint. I hust jog. Hopefully this helps.

Dieting is probably a no. Eatong healthy is a yes, but make sure you eat often so you get all of the nutrition you need in a day. Exercise should be limited until you talk to your doctor. Every body is different. I am 7 weeks, and i am not allowed to exercise because i have a past of anemia. So, just either call your triage nurse or ask at your first appointment! Hope this helps :)
