Gaining weight

I know in pregnancy you will gain weight. But I'm having a hard time adjusting to my body. I feel like I'm getting fat everywhere. And I'm very healthy. Exercise eat right. The whole deal. But I used to suffer from bulimia and different eating disorders. I have a fear of gaining weight. And it scares me deeply. I just wanna know if there is anyway I can feel better about the extra weight gain. I'm feeling very depressed. I love my baby and I want to do everything for my baby.  And j know this is part of it. I just don't know how I can cope properly and be healthy and safe...

As you progress in life, your focus  will adjust away from "It matters a lot to me to be pretty and thin" to I REALLY want to have my children happy and healthy.  It's a maturing process.   When you become a mother,  it's very likely your focus will shift off  your own self,  onto helping your baby grown and succeed. Once you have a baby,  it becomes not about you anymore all the time,  for most mothers.

Best wishes.  This is a great journey.

Look up the distribution of weight for a healthy pregnancy. The weight that your baby needs is about 26 pounds. Within that is the weight of extra blood, amniotic fluid, Breast growth, the baby, placenta etc. I have a goal weight by week 40 that I've talked to my OB about. I'm 20 weeks right now and we have a plan to gain 1 pound a week.
It helps me feel in control to know how much I need to gain because in reality 26 pounds isn't that much, and if I lose any weight through Breast feeding, plus my baby going taken out of me I should be fine.
This is not to say that you can't gain more, but it's also a way to not feel guilty about your weight gain.

Coping with the weight gain is always hard especially since your body will never be the same or feel the same. just remember you can always loose the weight after baby you sound like you are doing it right exercising and so on. So you have nothing to worry about as long as your baby is healthy. Also if it helps after my first I lost all of what I gained after I had him Goodluck and don't stress about weight

Everyone gains different amounts of weight while pregnant.  I gained barely any with my first, while my cousin gained probably 30lbs.  We both had healthy pregnancies and babies.
I would see if there is some sort of support group around you, Especially since you have suffered from eating disorders in the past.  You know you want your baby to be healthy, and so you need to do what you can to help with that.

How much have you gained and how far along are you? I lost 26 lbs before i got pregnant. I was 15lbs away from my dream weight and bam baby #3 comes along. Im only 9 weeks and ive only gained 1lb but that lb is killing me when i look at the scale and im getting a small pooch which is hurting me  i never cared gaining weight with my other kids but this time i was so set on getting my dream body before my next baby but now i have to wait again. I still try to eat healthy but my depression about the weight in going to gain doesnt help and i still exercise but its tough i feel you.
