Gestational Diabetes

So i found out about a week and a half ago I have gestational diabetes. I saw the nutritionist and she gave me a diet to follow. she gave me ideas on what foods to eat, but basically said I can eat anything just watch the carbs. I am supposed to eat 30carbs for breakfast, 60carbs for lunch and dinner, and 3 snacks that are 30carbs each. I am to check my blood sugar 4 times a day, and it should stay between 60-90 in the morning and 90-120 all day. Well when I got my test results in the first place, i had just BARELY failed them by about 5-10 points or less. So, I started off eating exactly as she told me to, and found that my blood sugar was always low. usually under 80 all day, and just above 60 in the morning. So, instead of sticking to the diet i've added a few extra carbs during my meals (usually eating just 5-15, sometimes 20 carbs extra on some meals or snacks) & found my blood sugar never goes over 100. So, is this ok? as long as i'm monitoring my blood sugar and making sure it doesn't go near high, and still eating healthy foods? Thanks!

Yes that's normal. As long ad is under 120.  But don't go without eating for a long time that messes with your sugar levels, it might even get too low if you skip meals.  If  you stick to your 3 meals & 3 snacks a day you'll be fine.  Just try to figure out your routine & don't forget your protein & veggies!

I have diabetes too , but not gestational.  I've had ir since I was 16.  I'm 31 now& electing baby #4.  First I want to say that all my kids are healthy & none have diabetes :)
So are you on meds?  I'm on insulin only during pregnancy.  It is hard to find a good rhythm with blood sugars.  You just have to figure out what foods work for you.  Don't eat pure carbs, make sure you include protein in your diet.  Um sure you know, you've already seen the dietitian.  Anyways for  me I've always been controlled & I've had a lot of lows but that's because my doc gave me too much insulin!  I just self adjust... But I've been through this 4 times now.  My doc doesn't mind either she ok with it as long as I'm under 120 which most days I never go over 110th.  Be careful not to have to many lows that can also be harmful to the baby ad well as you.

I would just monitor your blood to make sure it doesn't go to high but doesn't seem like you need to stick to a diet or you will not feel well
With the sugar level going down. I tested 5 over on 1 hr test so dr are just watching size of baby and told me just to add more veggies to my diet snd eliminate one carb serving a day and drink lots of water. Hope that helps

Hmm I don't think you have it. I do and my sugar can be high if I go over. I would still keep checking it to be on the safe side. Did she/he have u check in with them? The had to email my lady fir two weeks with my ketone and sugar and what I ate.
