I took mine yesterday and didn't know I had to take it til I went to my appt...I failed so I now have to take the 3 hour
its not bad, they take blood you drink some orange kinda of drink (tastes like orange pop) then take more blood... its better to find out
It's really not that bad, and it's best to know if you have it. A doctor can't make you take a test, but they can refuse to see you further as it's a liability on them.
My doctor hasn't said anything either so I was hoping I didn't, but at my 27 week appointment she told me I need to go get it done :/
I really couldnt stand having to drink that stuff, let alone waiting a hour to have my blood taken. But ill do anything I can to make sure my little boy comes out healthy as can be! I just went and took mine last week and have an appointment with my doctor tomorrow to discuss the results! Hoping for good news! Oh and ill be 28 weeks Saturday, so they usually ask for it to be done sometime in your 7th month!
^^ so u got urs on your 30+ wkk??
I posted the same question a wk or so bk...i had my app wiv my consultant last thur and i also asked him..he told me they only really do it if ur BMI is ova 30 im borderline so i asked 4 it anyway. Im 35+1 snd get my results 2morra.
Most of the time they do it between 26& 28 weeks i believe
I was just wondering bcz I went for my check up today && ill b 6 mons next wkk && my doc didnt tell me anything abt the glucose test, my next oppoinment ill b 7mons...so idk if shes going to have me take the test or not.
The best thing to do is take it
No. U can refuse it...u can refuse any test during pregnancy. HOWEVER, gestational diabetes could be dangerous for you and baby if left untreated and undiagnosed.
