I was never told I couldn't eat. Only when I did the fasting glucose did they say I couldn't eat. Best of luck with you on that.

You cant eat 3 hours before the test. My mom is a nurse. And she hates when people fast before this test because it will give false results. Eat normally before the test and just don't eat after 10. Doctor want to see your normal diet. Not a fasting!!!!

I didn't fast at all before my glucose test & all my levels were normal & i didnt eat anything before either. Just call you doc & ask her what you can have people are diff so something thats good for others might not be good for you. I call my doc and asked before i came in.

Your doctor shouldn't be doing g your glucose test that late. You are supposed to fast for 8hrs before the test. My neighbor at a breakfast burrito at 5am and had her test at 9 am and she had to retest because her test came back positive. She ended up not having diabetes...

Lean proteins (fish, chicken, etc.) nuts, or a small salad maybe. I know those aren't really breakfast friendly, LOL. Stay away from sugary items, including fruit (they have natural sugars) and starchy foods (bread, pasta, potatoes, etc.) because the body will process it into sugar. These foods can elevate your sugar levels in your blood which may cause your test results to be elevated, although some people don't fast at all and their results come back fine.
