HCG levels, bleeding, and cramping in Pregnancy

This is my first pregnancy.  I began spotting brown then bleeding. I went to urgent care and the Doctor instantly said more than likely I'm having a miscarriage. They took blood for my hcg levels and took a ultrasound. My hcg levels were 512 and my ultrasound was inclusive because they didn't see anything, but they said it might be too early. Two days later they took more blood, and my hcg levels were 536. After that test, I began cramping badly and still consistent bleeding.  I went back to Urgent care and the Doctor said it was a 99.9% I'm having a miscarriage. The doctor has me following up every 2 days for hcg levels to decrease, But mine keep going up slowly.  My hcg levels went form a 536 to 566.  What does this mean? Why does the doctor want my levels to go down and not up? I may be anywhere between 2 to 4 weeks pregnant, not sure. Has anyone experienced this and ended up having a healthy baby? I have another ultrasound scheduled in 5 days.

Thank you! It's in Gods hands at this point! I thought I already miscarried but my levels keep rising. I'm praying that if I'm going to miscarry, it happens sooner than later so it won't be painful, or my hcg level doubles if the baby is going to stay! I'm so confused at this point! Thanks for your time!

If you are having consistant bleeding especially with heavy cramping it is most likely you are having a MC. The Dr. will want to keep testing your HCG levels to ensure they go all the way down to 0, meaning your body has expelled everything. Your levels are going up but so slightly that the odds are against you. The Dr. wants to see your HCG levels doubling every 48-72 hours. I will keep my fingers crossed for you!

I was on birth control pills for 7 yrs consistently and I just got off at the end of Jan so that threw my cycle off! It was normally regular, a 5 day period/ 28 days cycle, but my last period was only 4 days (March-6th-9th). I had to have gotten pregnant after March 9th because I was out of town March 2nd- 8th.

Thank you. Are your periods normally regular, or have a set cycle length?

Low rising levels coupled with bleeding are strong indicators of a non-viable pregnancy. It's also possible it could be Ectopic. He wants them to drop because that would mean it is indeed a miscarriage. When was your last period?
