You should see what your hospital provides l I used was sweat pants and my deodorant. And the baby's going home outfit
My hospital supplied tooth paste, tooth brush, body wash, shampoo, socks, these weird undies but I rather damage those than my own or even buying some, pads, cleansing stuff for down there, they had diapers wipes receiving blankets.
I personally wouldn't bring make up trust you won't care. I didn't even brush my hair I just wanted to shower and sleep.
Definitely bring socks because it gets cold. At the time I wish I had brought a blanket because their sheets were so thin but believe it or not they have blankets that stay on this heater thing that I literally wanted to take home with me.
Also most insurance will cover your food thankfully my hospital had good food.
I packed a bunch of stuff for my fiancé but I told him to go home to sleep for the one night we stayed.. One the recliners or so uncomfortable I couldn't let him sleep on there two we have four dogs and they are my babies as well so they needed food and attention more importantly needed to poop outside lol
But honestly you won't use the majority of things you'll pack but I'd call your hospital because the last thing you'd want to do is buy new undies just to ruin with a new baby on he or she's way!
^^^ if you get a csection its a MUST to get like granny panties. Lol. You don't want the band going near your incision. At least the first couple weeks. But they provided me mesh underwear at the hospital (super comfy)
Toiletries, hair tie, robe, slippers socks. Lotion. Chapstick. Outfit for you and baby to go home in. I got cheap flip flops to wear in shower. Nursing bras. Hospital provided everything else I needed: pads, underwear, baby clothes diapers, Breast pump nipple cream. I wish I had an extra long phone charger to reach my bed. I stayed 4 nights though (csection)
Don't forget breast pads/ sanitary pads. I planned on breastfeeding so the breast pads came in handy as I started leaking soon after the baby my first time. Also, I bought the heavy overnight sanitary pads. Even though my period was super light when I did get it, after the baby my flow was HEAVYYYYYY!
I packed:
3 front button pajamas/robes (easy for feeding baby)
6 granny undies
3 nursing bras
4 pairs of socks
Toothbrush/toothpaste
Hairbrush/hair ties
Makeup
Towel (the hospital ones are thin)
Going home outfit
Baby:
3 onesie
3 pairs of socks
3 hats
3 mittens
1 blanket
My husband:
Camera/chargers
Overnight clothes
Snacks-TONS OF THEM
Thank you so much ameriaMae. It was very helpful. I will buy undies which I usually wear.
@Gotnewlife I bought a pack of normal underwear that covers and secures me tightly and I plan on using regular maxi pads. Some woman like to use depends Undies which are those adult diapers haha. Even with a c section you should be able to wear Undies with no issues.
Hi girls what kind of undies did you use or buy? Is there anything special that should be worn postpartum or just the usual panties???!! Like in my hospital list they have mentioned of 5 maternity panties. And confused on how to wear undies after an emergency c section if that happens.
thanks girls! gonna start packing tonight.
