Hi, I am 12 weeks pregnant and when I was 6 weeks my progesterone level was a 12. My OB said that was very low that it needed to be at least a 25. He put me on prometrium, a hormone replacement. and he said that if I didn't take it I would lose the baby. My husband and I looked it up and read all about it and all of its side affects. My husband was not happy and does not want me taking it. So we decided that I won't take it. Don't get me wrong we want this baby more than anything and want our three year old to have a sibling. But our theory is that if its Gods will that we have this baby... we will.
Thank you for responding, Ive been a little sad the past few days so I havnt been on here much. I did get my results and my HCG only went up to 31. The doctor told me to stop taking prometrium and I would naturally miscarry. I did This Tuesday. It does just feel like a heavier period. I hope this is my period and i will ovulate in 14 days to try again. This is my second m/c and the lst one was at 2 1/2 months, I hope this will be my last ;o(.
Thanks again for your help.
how the hell sdo i do that? i am new to this stuff
You have to write your own question to the doctor. She will not answer if you piggyback off of someone else. :)

Hi!
I just saw your follow up question about the HCG. A level of 21 is OK as long as the next level is 42(or so) I expect by now you have the results of a few of them. I hope they are good. At least you can have more confidence in your doctor!

Hi!
I'm sorry to respond so late! I think the first answer I posted got lost in cyberspace and never made it to the forum. I'm not sure why your doctor would say that 21 was "low".
I have always used 15 as a cut off, and have recently read a paper saying that all of their viable pregnancies had progesterone levels over 10. Unless the units are funny, and the value is actually 2.16, I think you're in good shape. Hope your HCG is (was) good!
