Mirena

What do you mommies think about this birth control. I have a 2 year old boy and a baby girl on the way. Im 34+5 and im seriously considering some type of BC.. Ive heard alot of bad stuff about it but some people really like it.. I dont want the pills cuz i barely remember to take my prenatal pills and i dont like the depo shot. what do u guys think?

I had mine for 3 years and had it removed bc I though something was wrong. My doctor even tried to talk me out of it. It had started to imbed into my uterus. I only narrowly escaped surgery to have it removed, I had to endure over 2 hours of my doctor searching for it and finally with the help of an ultrasound tech she got it right as she gave up and told me we would have to schedule surgery. Scariest thing ever. I suffered a miscarriage 6 months afterward and I truly believe it was mirena related. I have also had irregular periods ever since getting it which I never had a problem with and I have never had a problem getting pregnant before but it took 2 years for me to conceive and actually carry past 5 weeks. If I could go back I never would have gotten it and I would never recommend it.

Yeah it's just lime the merana but with no hormones. It last like nine years  and has the same chances of getting pregnant it's 99.9 percent.

Hmmm i was thinking about paraguard also but just the thought of it possibly embedding in my uterus scares me.

I had the paragard I absolutely loved it! Its the safest birth control out their and hormone free! You still have a period, even though we hate it its safest! No blood clots and your body is doing its monthly routine cleaning! It didn't hurt to be put in, I had it for 5 years and took it out So we could conceive again but its for 10 yrs! Im planning to get right back on it after this baby :)!

Have you thought about the nurva ring? Its not a pill so you don't have to worry about having to remember it every day. You put one in for three weeks and then take it out for your period.

I had the mirena for almost 5 years and loved it. I never had issues. My sister and a couple of my friends have it as well and love it. After I have this baby I'm going back to it!  The beginning and be a bit awful bc some women bleed a lot and for awhile but then it stops.  I never had to take any extra precautionaries when having sex..and im pretty fertile. I highly recommend it. It produces very minimal hormones so it doesn't make you feel crazy and most women dont have periods..that was my favorite part! No weight gain or anything!

I hated mine. It made me gain weight lose my hair have awful mood swings and depression. I had it taken it after three months and I went back to normal. Have you heard of the paragaurd? It's a non hormonal iud. So protection without the side effects. It's what I'm getting after this baby.
