Misoprostol for miscarriage help not working

Hi I was givin misoprostol to help with my miscarriage because my baby's heart stopped almost 2wks ago and i had very low hcg's to begin with and my body has not done a natural miscarriage yet. I was given 600mg to take orally and told if did'nt work to take again 12hrs later which i did and still nothing happened. Then i was given 600mg more and told to insert vaginally last night and still nothing really happened wokr up this morning and was bleeding slightly passed a small clot and then bleeding stopped I was told to do it vaginally once more. But i'm wondering why is'nt it working is there something else i can do to help it along?

Hi!
I'm sorry for the delay in response--was very ill for awhile

I hope by now everything is over and done with and you are on the path to recovery.
I'm very sorry for your loss.  It is so difficult to have to go through this type of non-surgical miscarriage, although it is better and safer for your uterus.

Sometimes I increase the dose of misoprostol to 800 or even 1000 if necessary.
A d&c is also an option.

I hope you have a much better time with your next pregnancy!

Good luck!

If you have insurance then just go for a d&c.  It gets it over quickly and then they are sure to clean out everything and not leave any tissue behind.  Sorry its not working miscarriages totally suck I have had three.  Good luck!
