Most bankruptcies in the US happen from overwhelming hospital bills and if you don't have health insurance by the age of 25 (I think) you get a fine. I am 26 and I just lost my job with my benefits. Im getting married next month so I will be able to be covered by my husband. I would rather pay a  higher rate in taxes and have everyone covered in socialized healthcare than what the US is  doing now... most people are suffering..just saying

In Wales we don't even pay for prescriptions. The only thing I pay for is dentist treatment and even that is free during pregnancy and until the baby is 1.
Good luck and I hope you get it sorted. I've been hearing a lot about Obama care. Can you not use that for pregnancy?

Its so strage you guys have to pay for stuff like that? In the UK we dont have to pay for anything medical except for medication, which then is pretty much a set price! I mean if you work you pay National Insurance but its peanuts! I feel for you! Hugsss :)

It's okay, just go to your doctor. When i had my first check up (I was 9 weeks then), i didn't have my health insurance either. I just got mine recently and i'm 17 weeks now.
