OB is an a-hole

I would think that my obgyn would know how to talk to pregnant woman after being an ob for years now he literally called me fat and over weight and i was feeling good about my weight gain until he came into the room and said  that im 206 but its all boobs and belly i weighed 170 before i was pregnant and truth be told no one believed me when i told them my weight im a well put together young lady in other words before i got pregnant i was a nice 36 c cup with a big bottom lol so now my boobs and bottom have both gotten way bigger plus the belly due to baby i just don't understand why my doctor is so rude he could have said that in a way nicer way but now im feeling as if my family and fiancee are lying to me when they say i look great : -(

Yeah my fiancee thinks he was being an a-hole because they were beyond packed today and at our last appointments but i was supposed to see him last week their office called me and moved me until today so idk what his problem is he has been very nice and talkive up until our last two appointments but today its like he just didn't care and was trying to hurry up and get us out of there

Yeah that's a problem... He should be so wishy washy in his approach and then make you feel bad about yourself for following his instructions. I myself am down almost 4 lbs since when I got pregnant (due to nausea and lack of appetite) but my Dr was upfront with me from the beginning saying that its normal to lose now but don't actively try to lose, and to be very careful when the nausea subsides(if it ever does) and not to eat everything

Thank you all for your comments and i get what everyone is saying but there is a way to tell some one you are worried about their weight gain instead of calling them fat like he really stood in my face and said your fat and are getting fater my fiancee was ready to rip him a new one once i started crying and we mentioned it to him the last time we saw him he was kind of rude when we told him we wanted to try all natural birth

Mommy2be2124 i feel you on the im the same way i have curves and can still fit all my clothes

Taylorshay13 i was okay with my weight until he said that now i can't get it out my head that my family and fiancee are lying to me i know he was a jerk for putting it the way he did but i just cant shake this feeling that im overweight as he put it

Nina159 i didn't really have a problem with my weight before im the type of person who can lose weight easily but i won't lie after that i don't feel very pretty at all

Knufrio i understand what your saying but my doctor has been the one from day one saying eat more your to little your losing weight and now that i've gained 36 pounds over almost 8 months hes calling me fat in a blunt way even if that was the case there is a better way of saying it

My2ndbaby thats just it i was and still im watching in he was the one telling me i was too little or that i was losing weight and i should eat more to only turn around and say im overweight that's just crazy to me

Lilseamonkey thanks I'll try to keep my head up im just confused at how hes been saying things to me at my last to visits it just seems like he dont care how he says things and dealing with hormones doesn't make it easy to hear stuff like that.

But once again thanks ladies: -) you've made me feel a little better

I am currently 200lbs and 7 weeks... I have a female Dr who said I should gain no more than 15-20 lbs and that's being generous... If you are overweight (bmi wise) when you get pregnant it is ideal to gain only 11-15 lbs. That is not only for your health but baby's health too.

I'm sorry you have a crap dr. :( my dr didn't say a word to me about my weight, I weighed like 290 pre pregnancy so I was very large, then in my last trimester I gained 30-40 lbs I can't remember. Still not one word, I'm down by a lot now I weigh less than I did prepregnancy so thank you bf! Lol try not to take it to heart, men drs are usually more insensitive in my experience. If your husband and family are saying you look great then I'm sure you're stunning. Keep your head up girl, it's all baby, and it's all worth it!

I added quite a lot of weight when I was pregnant with my first child. When I went to the doctor, she wasn't smiling. She immediately took a gestational diabetes test and booked an appointment at the hospital for me to undergo a glucose test. Thank God I was negative for diabetes. This time round, the midwife asked me to have a test between 28-32 weeks. That's because I never really got round to loosing the baby weight and was actually overweight. Thank God I was negative again. But when I went to the doctor she was so happy with me, coz at 32 weeks, I had only put on 9kg. I'm so sorry your doctor wasn't tactical with you,  but I guess he was frustrated that you could have done more to watch your weight gain, coz the more weight you gain the higher the chances of developing unnecessary health complications.

Weight gain is a very serious problem during pregnancy and as big as your boobs may be, they really don't weigh that much (even if you go up two cup sizes with pregnancy that's only about 3 lbs) your Dr probably want a to make sure you are taking the issue seriously and not just accepting the weight be cause its "in the right places"
